PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Solutions That Empower The Successes That Matter.

A variety of staff development opportunities are available for classroom teachers, lead teachers, administrators, and curriculum specialists.  Helping teachers in their journey of implementing Thinking Maps® in their classrooms is our passion.  We are committed to providing teachers with the tools and skills they need to succeed from start to finish.

Interested in attending one of the inservice events we host?  Great!! There are just a few things we need to clarify…

Teachers must attend or have attended a Thinking Maps® Introductory Training Day before attending ANY other training.  All of our trainings utilize Maps, so it is not possible to teach advanced training techniques without first understanding the basics.   Not sure if you meet this requirement? See FAQ’s below.

Thinking Maps® Professional Development FAQ’s

Q:        I am currently teaching in a school/district that is implementing Thinking Maps®.  I received Introductory Training at my school.  Do I still have to attend an Introductory Training Day before attending any of your other trainings?

A:         That depends. If the Thinking Maps® Introductory Training did not occur at Central Creativity, we will require the following information from you:

                1. Name of the school/district where initial training took place

                2. Year of the training

            >  Once we have this information, it may be possible that we can waive the Introductory Training based on your level of understanding.  However, you must have a Language for Learning Thinking Maps® Manual to bring to all future trainings you plan to attend at Central Creativity.

Q:        What is Write From the Beginning?

A:         Write From the Beginning is the writing sequel to Thinking Maps®.  It covers Narrative, Expository, Argumentative, and Response to Text domains of writing.

Q:        After I attend an Introductory Training, can I use Thinking Maps® in my classroom?

A:         Absolutely! We encourage you to infuse them into everything you teach.

Q:        I have attended an Introductory Training and received my Language for Learning Manual.  After seeing me use Maps with my class, a co-worker wants to use them in her class too. Can I let her borrow my manual?

A:         No.  Thinking Maps® are registered trademarks of Thinking Maps, Inc.  The only way a teacher may use them is to attend an Introductory Training and purchase a Language for Learning Manual.  There are NO EXCEPTIONS!

Q:        I am a principal and I would like to implement Thinking Maps® in my school.  Could you train all my faculty members at the same time?

A:         We certainly can!  If you would like us to conduct the training in our state-of-the-art learning classrooms, we could reserve a private training day for your group at Central Creativity.  If you would like the training to take place at your location, we will travel to conduct the training at your site.

For more information about school-wide implementation, please contact:

Dr. Marjann Ball at 601.577.7059 or marjann@centralcreativity.com.

Q:        Can I get CEU’s for these training opportunities?

A:         Yes. We will have CEU’s available for purchase at all of our trainings. CEU’s will be available for purchase for each of these trainings.
