Critical Reading and Writing

This class is perfect for late elementary and middle school students who want to improve their writing, reading, and study skills.  When students enter middle school, they may be overwhelmed by the amount of content for which they are responsible. They are expected to be more organized and fluent in their ability to learn independently.  However, many students are not prepared for these demands.  This class will teach students how to more effectively read text for understanding as well as note and test-taking methods.  Students will also build important writing skills and text response skills using Write From the Beginning and Beyond®, the writing sequel to Thinking Maps®.
